About FPSC
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is an independent constitutional body established under Article 242 of the Constitution of Pakistan. It is responsible for recruiting qualified candidates for civil posts in federal government departments and conducting the prestigious Central Superior Services (CSS) examination.
FPSC ensures merit-based selection through transparent competitive examinations and interviews for various federal government positions across Pakistan.
Central Superior Services (CSS) Examination
What is CSS?
The CSS examination is the most prestigious competitive exam in Pakistan, conducted annually by FPSC. Successful candidates join elite occupational groups including:
- Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS)
- Police Service of Pakistan (PSP)
- Pakistan Foreign Service (PFS)
- Customs & Excise Group
- Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service
- Information Service
- Commerce & Trade Group
- Military Lands & Cantonments Group
- Railways Group
- Postal Group
- Income Tax Group
- District Management Group
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: 21-30 years (as of August 1st of exam year)
- Education: Bachelor's degree (at least 2nd Division) from HEC recognized university
- Nationality: Pakistani citizen
- Attempts: Maximum 3 attempts for general candidates, 6 attempts for disabled persons
Exam Pattern
Written Examination (1200 Marks):
- Compulsory Subjects (600 marks): English Essay, English (Précis & Composition), General Science & Ability, Current Affairs, Pakistan Affairs, Islamic Studies/Ethics
- Optional Subjects (600 marks): Choose 3 subjects from available list
Psychological Assessment (100 Marks)
Viva Voce (300 Marks)

Submit Documents

Pay Challan
Download fee challan and pay at designated bank branches (Fee waived for disabled/minorities)
Submit Application
Complete submission by uploading paid challan and final submission before deadline
Admit Card & Exam
Download admit card before exam date and appear in written test/interview as scheduled
